Birthday List

Mum: What do you want for your birthday?
Me: A digital rebel XT.
Mum: How much is that?
Me: About $1500.
Mum: So… What else do you want for your birthday?
Jade commented that it’s hard to think of something to give as a 21st gift and I have to agree – I’m still trying to find something perfect for Candy (start with the hints girl) – she suggested I should write a list, I have, and here it is…
- Ashton AV442 violin
- A FoofPod in blue split
- Logitech MX 1000 cordless laser mouse
- Computer tool kit (I keep stealing my brothers)
- UGG boots
- Hunna’s Under one roof and Natural Selection DVD’s
- Curious Perfume
- A Victoria’s Secret, Jinx, Thinkgeek, Threadless, Emitions or Game Head gift certificate.
- Silk knitting needle case (in gold/lavender), needle sleeve (in lavender) or a knit one bag (in mandarin)

Reply to this comment.I don’t recommend getting her the violin – as far as violins go, anything that costs under $1000 probably isn’t worth playing. So, yah.

Reply to this comment.Francey: I’m only a beginner, not a Symphony Orchestra member, so a $1000 violin would be a bit of an over kill for twinkle, twinkle little star.
Dan M: it was a joke, that’s why she said “So… What else do you want for your birthday?”
Natedog: UGG boots can be worn out.
JK: can you email me a screenshot? I’m Mac less, so I can’t see what you’re talking about.
Nicole: I have to agree, I’ve smelt curious and it is divine.
Fiona: My friend has a yellow one, not sure what brand it is though.

Reply to this comment. Why do you want one of the dick smith tool kits? they are cheap and nasty and you won’t even use half of the tools. plus they are designed for end users.

lol, is that a euphemism for something? As for violins, mine has sat in a cupboard for a year now. I found it a bloody nightmare to play. (Mail me if you wanna 2nd hand violin, btw…)

Reply to this comment.Clearly, I’m going to have to put “no unsolicited advice” in the comments disclaimer, because some of you seem to love giving it.
Mark, sounded like one. And I will email you about the violin.

Reply to this comment.DSLRS are all I dream about these days, I buy mass amounts of photography magazine just to drool over how amazingly unaffordable they actually are. I asked for one for my recent birthday, my mother didn’t even grace me with a “wth are you talking about?” stare. A Rebel XT would make my day but the Nikon D70 is my god. *looks over her shoulder at the mazines* =S
Birthday presents… ughhhh! I bought my friend two bottles of wine for her 26th because I’m that lame. I had no idea what to get her, I even went to London on the look out and came back with ziltch. Good luck with that, you’re gonna need it!

Reply to this comment.War Eagle: they’re not meant to look good, they’re meant to keep your feet warm.
Jade: I don’t buy those magazine anymore, too many cool things, no money to buy them.
Cafedave: yeah it was a joke, I’d never ask my mother to buy me something that expensive… Unless she won the lotto.

Reply to this comment.@Kitta: Already did email Logitech: “Unfortunately we cannot make any statement than that we do not offer any drivers for Linux and DOS.
However MSI emailed me that they try to get MSI Taiwan to re-insert USB Mouse Legacy (=PS/2 emulation for USB Mice) in the motherboard I plan to buy/wish for Christmas (will probably look like a BIOS update, if they do).
Heh, hope I didn’t boring you now!
If so, then sorry
