It’s just porn
Posted on Wednesday, 30th March 2005 at 3:35amI’ve had a few people mention that they can no longer access my site at their schools, workplaces and universities (why you’re trying to access my site when your meant to be studying or working is beyond me) because Kitta.net has been listed as porn.
Yes, porn.
I have a suspicion that the ‘Mr Cunt’ entry has something to do with the net nannies radar (or porndar) being tripped off and alerting the masses to my sites pornyness (after all I did say cunt 5 times). Either that or the little red monkey has been shaking his ass for dollar bills somewhere on this site without my prior knowledge.
Looking on the bright side I can now casually slip into conversations that I own a porn site.
[Update]
- This revelation has now sparked a new saying among friends… “You’re so porn” Which is to be said when you do something porn worthy or fantasticly porny.
- I’ve made a tried and tested ‘how to be porn’ list, just follow the 5 simple steps and you’ll be porn in no time!

Well including comments, I can count 27 uses of the word cunt, or one of its derivatives.
Luckily I can still access your site from my work however. Although many of my favourite Linux-related websites are blocked and logged as ‘criminal activity’. Go figure.

I haven’t been able to access my art portfolio from schools since December 2004, at least. It comes up as “porn” too.

Websense (which seems to get used by a lot of companies for their filtering needs) categorises you as ‘Adult Content’. Mind you, it also categorises dozens of useful design blogs as Message Boards and Clubs which is just as annoying. Well, perhaps slightly less annoying. Either way, I can’t look at them.

Ed, sometimes site are just classified wrong, just because it says my site is porn doesn’t mean it really is.

Tom, photos don’t really have anything to do with it. It’s more likely to be my overuse of the word cunt (what’s it now like 31? We need a bloody tally board.)
Laur, yes this design has been around for ages, I’m planning on re-designing soonish.
Lynne, I doubt it, the ‘kitta’ entry in urban dictionary has been around since 2003.
Abbey, I agree most are automated and classify sites wrongly.
